My WoW Character Profiles
Written by Brian on August 21, 2007 – 11:23 am -Since I’m doling out so much advice, I thought maybe I should include some info about my experience with the game, my characters, and their accomplishments. This is a bit of a WoW resume, so that you can feel confident that I actually know what I’m talking about.
I started playing WoW in January 2007. All of my characters are on the Earthen Ring RP server, because that’s where my friends had been playing for years. Currently, I’ve got two 70′s, one 29 twink, one 30 something that will soon be a 39 twink, and a few trash alts that don’t do much.
My first character, and my current main, is Walkere. You can check out my armory profile for some up to date statistics.
He’s currently a Level 70 Frost Mage (10/0/51). The spec has been tweaked for raiding, but I kept some of the Frost talents that would be most helpful in Arena. Although I tried a 3v3 team, I like 2v2 the best and I’m currently on a 2v2 Team with a Shadow Priest in my guild (Thordagen). We usually do fairly well – at or above 500 most weeks, and our rating hovers at or around 1600.
In terms of PVE content, Walkere has seen a good amount. He’s gone through most of the Heroics, cleared Karazhan many times, tanked Krosh Firehand a few times, and seen Gruul go down. Our guild is currently banging its head against Magtheridon, so that’s the farthest I’ve been.
He’s also rich. I got my Epic Flying mount a while ago, and I farmed the rep to get the Netherwing Drake a week or two after that patch came out. I’ve since gotten to be Exalted with Ogri’la and Shat’ari Skyguard. He spends most of his time doing daily quests and farming stuff for my other characters, so his reputation pane is quite full.
My other level 70 is a Paladin – Sythrick. Here’s his armory profile. He’s currently a heavy protection spec geared towards raid tanking, but he’s liable to re-spec holy at any time.
I power leveled Sythrick to 70 over the summer because I wanted to be able to contribute something to my guild besides some DPS… because everyone’s got DPS. It’s my opinion that everyone should have at least one tanking or healing character, if they have more than one character, so that the guild always has a supply of tanks and healers. Makes sense to me.
We happened to have a shortage of available tanks when I hit 70, so I spec’ed protection. Tanking is awesome, and I think Paladins are great for it. People who malign the tankadin haven’t seen a good one in action. He’s main tanked through Karazhan and he’s tanked some of the channelers in Magtheridon’s Lair. Unfortunately, he hasn’t seen the inside of Gruul’s yet because my guild always need me to tank Krosh on my mage.
I’ve also got two PVP characters on the server. My level 29 Hunter, Kellset, is currently twinked at the Level 20-29 bracket. He is a lot of fun to play. Hunters are broke. Most of the other people in the guild have lost interest in their twinks, though, so he probably won’t see much play anymore. Regardless, he’ll probably stay in this bracket forever in case I feel the need to PVP a bit.
My other PVP character, Padishor, is just starting the treck to twinkdom. This rogue stagnated at level 37, where I lost interest in him. I realized that I already had one DPS character with my mage, so what good was a second? It was shortly after this that I power leveled the Paladin up. One of the 29 twinks in the guild decided to grow up to level 39, so I figured that this would be a good fate for the Rogue. Only two levels to go and I’ve got a big bankroll for BoE’s and enchants. It’ll take a few weeks before he’s ready to compete, but Padishor’s seems destined to be a Level 39 forever now.
