Don’t Sit Down While Tanking…
Written by Brian on June 3, 2008 – 8:56 pm -Here’s a tip. Don’t sit down while you’re tanking.
Today, I was running Heroic Underbog with some guildies for the daily heroic quest. UB is incredibly easy with a Pally tank, a decent healer, and some good DPS. We were rolling through the place… but I was always short on mana.
We were towards the very end, pulling the Underbog Lord just before the Druid/Hunter boss. I complained that I had no mana, but our Holy Pally decided to screw around and pull the Underbog Lord anyway. To which the DPS Warrior replied, “Just sit down.”
I thought, “Hmm… That could work.” I’d read the same page on Wowwiki that he had. It suggests that if you’re short on mana, /sit. By sitting down, you cause the mob to auto-crit you.
Bad idea. The Underbog Lord normally hit me for about 3-4k. I figured a crit wouldn’t be that bad. Just before I sat down, I took a normal hit (~4k). Then I sat down, and the Underbog Lord decided to learn how to hit extra hard… and critted me for 10k. I stood up, but he got another hit off before the Holy Pally could finish his Holy Light… doh.
So let this be a lesson to you. Don’t sit down. Despite what Wowwiki says.
