Found Models are Kind of Like Free!

A picture of my new Chaos army, partially assembled.I was digging through some of my old Warhammer stuff today, and I realized that I had some Chaos models tucked away in my unassembled junk pile.

Two years ago, we talked about playing through a Chaos warbands campaign. We rolled up the lists, and I got and assembled a few models. But the campaign never happened.

It is a bit of a boon for me now, though. I discovered ten assembled (but unprimed/unbased) Warhounds, three Chaos Warriors (and the rest of the box unassembled), and a mounted Lord of Nurgle.

I spent some time basing those guys, and then I set about assembling my box of Chaos Knights. I had enough painting yesterday, and I figured it was time to get some more guys together. Finding all of the old models helped a bit with that.

The Knights aren’t done, but I got the horses together, mounted them on magnetic bases, and put sand on the bases. Tomorrow I might find the time to assemble the guys, too.

I was kind of disappointed with the Knights. The horses didn’t go together very well – some gaps between the two sides, and the heads don’t seem like they really fit. They reminded me of GW’s older models (like the metal Chaos Knights), which is strange because most of their new plastic stuff goes together perfectly.

Oh well. The Marauders went together great, and as I recall the Warriros are a snap to put together too. I suppose I can live with one annoying unit of models.
