No Time to Paint
Written by Brian on December 18, 2008 – 11:18 pm -Last weekend, I started painting my Chaos army. I got a Marauder Horseman halfway done.
Since then, I’ve done just about nothing. I haven’t assembled the Chaos Knights I’ve got, I haven’t finished my Marauders, nor have I bought any new models.
I find it tough to make time to paint and assemble models. Most of my free time at home is spent relaxing (naps are important these days), doing real work for school, or writing for this blog (probably about education). The weekend – Friday and Saturday – seem like the only days to really get some painting progress done.
When I first got into Warhammer, I worked at a gaming store. I could use spare time at the store to assemble and paint models. It usually worked out so that I could devote at least an hour or two each shift (sometimes much more, on slow days) to building my armies. I no longer have that luxury.
I once said that I’d never play Warhammer after I left the store, because I wouldn’t be around it on a daily basis nor would I have the time to invest in the models. I wonder, now, if I was right. I guess time will tell if I can find the time to paint and assemble a whole new army, or if I’m going to drop Warhammer as quickly as I picked it back up.
What about you? How much time to you spend painting/assembling models each week, and how do you balance it with work and other responsibilities?
