I’m still working away at my Chaos army. I’ve just about finished a unit of Warriors, bringing the number of assembled units to 5! 

Too bad I still only have one model painted. Hmm…

In the midst of all this assembling, I’ve found myself looking for things to do while assembling. Sitting here in silence is pretty boring, so I need something going on in the background if I’m going to work for more than a few minutes.

I tried assembling things in the living room while watching TV, but it didn’t work out too well. All of my supplies are down in my office (where there is no TV), and the shavings make a mess that I don’t think my wife appreciates.

That leaves me with whatever entertainment I can muster on my computer. Thankfully, that’s quite a lot these days.

If I’m in the mood for music, I hop over to q1043.com and start listening to the live feed. I used to listen to Pandora, but the music got a bit too repetitive for my taste. It’s also nice to hear a DJ every once in a while.

Sometimes, though, I like to watch movies/TV. This can be a bit distracting, especially if I’m watching something for the first time. But, the multi-tasking makes me feel less guilty about sitting around and watching things on the computer.

The latest thing to watch: Firefly. I got the DVD of the complete series a couple years ago for Christmas, and I love it. It’s a shame it went off the air after only one season.

Anyhow, it provides the perfect backdrop for assembling and painting. I know what’s going on, so I don’t have to constantly look up at the screen.

What do you normally do while painting and assembling? Music? Movies? TV? Nothing…?
